Engineer Ellenor

You've heard of Builder Bob? Well, let me introduce you to Engineer Ellenor. She does many creative things--her specialty is stacking blocks. The hard hat is necessary as sometimes the blocks do get thrown around. Now that I think of it, maybe the hat should be for Mommy? So keep a look out for Engineer Ellenor. She will be visiting you soon!

Bath Time!!

Another naked shot of me! I'm smiling because I'm about to jump into the bathtub and play with my toys....my mom is smiling because she's about to wash away the supper residue that found its way into my hair, ears and nose. Hurrah for bathtimes!

Hanging Out With My Brother

Everytime I go to Kelowna, I see my big brother---Aydan! He just turned 10 years old--which makes him the perfect size for picking me up and holding me, or pushing me around in my car. I can't wait to walk because I want to follow him around and see what he's doing. He's the best brother a little girl could ask for!

I DO!!

Ellenor has really asserted her independence at meal times these days. She often insists on feeding herself, and although it is WAY messier, I know that she needs to learn the skills of using cutlery. However, the spoons she has are not conducive for getting the food directly into her mouth. My mom has seen these other spoons that are curved shape so that the way the spoon is held, it is facing more in line with the mouth. Has anyone seen these kind of spoons?

When Can We Go Outside??

There is so much to see outside. Now that it's getting nicer out, I often see my dog Rusty laying in the sun on the deck. I can also see the squirrels running back and forth along the top of the fence. There are some birds too on top of the garage. Oh--now I see some little birds going into the birdhouse. There's so much to see!! When can we go outside?

Busy Times at Gramma and Grampa's

My mom and I are spending lots of time at my Gramma and Grampa's in Kelowna these days. My daddy has to go to New York and other eastern states every month, so while he's there working, my mom and I stay with Gramma and Grampa. At their house, I am working on developing my skills and talents. For instance, I am getting really good at standing up by myself. I'm still a bit wobbly at times, but I'll keep practicing!
I've also learned how to stand up in the tub. This gets a big reaction out of mommy and Gramma, so I will keep doing it. However, this skill has resulted in a few slips and falls which does scare me (and my mom!), so I need to work at standing without falling.
At Gramma's house, I have a cupboard all to myself with tupperwear inside for me to play with. I like to sit myself down in front of this play area, with all of my other toys around me, and play and sing. It's also fun to slam the doors shut really hard (although sometimes my head gets in the way and I give myself a bruised forehead---got to work on that one too!)

My First Visit to the Emergency Room

I haven't been feeling well lately. I have a rattle in my chest when I cough. I don't know how the rattle got in there, I didn't swallow one. Anyways, whenever I cough, I throw up--that's gross I know. I don't like doing because I cry after it happens...but it's been going on now since Monday night. Last night, I threw up again a few times, so my mom and dad took to the hospital. I was pretty brave, especially since there were other babies there who were crying very loudly. I only fussed a little bit when I got my temperature and heart beat taken. A very nice doctor looked me over and said "she has a rattle in her chest"....so, there you go. He gave me a prescription for some antibiotics for my ears, and told my mom and dad that if I continued to throw up, I would have to come back and see him again. My mom told me to not throw up again---and I haven't all day yet! Hopefully the rattle will find it's way back into my toy box and I can be up to my old playful tricks soon!
